Please remember that Heritage Bank and MasterCard will never ask for your full social security number over the phone or via unsecured email. If you are unsure or uneasy about any call or email you receive regarding your accounts, debit cards or credit cards, hang up and contact your bank or your the phone number on the back of your card.
We have heard about an automated phone call stating that a MasterCard has been blocked and it asks ther person on the phone to press “1” to continue. If you press 1 to continue, the automated message then asks for the full social security number of the person on the phone. THIS IS A SCAM!
Heritage Bank and MasterCard will NEVER ask for a customer’s full social security number or full card number and if you receive any calls like this, you should hang up.
