Thanks to Earl and Virginia Geiger’s entrepreneurial spirits, founding the Geiger Corporation in 1969, Heritage Bank’s story began. Their passion was to help other entrepreneurs, like farmers and small businesses thrive in their community.
The Geigers’ two sons, Gary and Tom have been actively involved in their family business, even at present. Gary Geiger led our Minnesota banks for 33 years. Tom Geiger, with a strong entrepreneurial background himself, actively serves as Heritage Bank’s Chief Executive Officer.
The roots of Heritage Bank are strong and resilient. The passion behind serving fellow entrepreneurs and seeing our communities thrive has not tarnished over time, we carry on the legacy of knowing how crucial family-owned and small businesses are to our community, and we will always be dedicated to serving them, and helping them succeed and thrive.

Heritage Bank has learned to evolve and has overcome many things over time like the farm crisis in the 80s, the Great Recession, and the Covid-19 pandemic. During Covid-19 we adapted quickly and nimbly moving most of our staff remotely and continued serving our customers digitally.
