Meet Matt Hubert. Matt is a dedicated and knowledgeable Ag Relationship Manager at Heritage Bank NA. Matt knows the ag space well. He has been an ag lender for three and a half years, and before that, he worked for a leading ag equipment dealer for seven years, getting to know ag leasing and financing well.
Matt works with his clients by getting to know where they’re at and what their land and agribusiness goals are. He then finds financing solutions tailored to their specific needs. He grew up around farmland in southwest Minnesota and appreciates the agroindustry and all that farmers do.
Q. How long have you worked in this industry?
A. I have been in the Ag world my whole life, having been an Ag Lender for the last 3.5 years. Before becoming a banker, I spent seven years as a Large Ag Salesman for a John Deere dealer. I have been with Heritage Bank NA for the last nine months.
Q. When and where did your passion for this work begin?
A. I have spent my life on and around the farm and am passionate about keeping rural America strong. I have spent most of my life working at keeping farms successful in all that I have done. If we don’t keep rural America alive, this country will die.
Q. What is something you have learned from your customers?
A. They want and deserve good customer service.
Q. Why do you do this job?
A. To ensure the family farm is preserved and my customers stay strong in everything they do.
Q. Can you give me an example of a story describing a time you had a valuable experience with a client?
A. Years ago, I made a cold call to a potential client; after chatting with them for a few minutes, they asked if I could build them a specialty corn planter (they run 38” rows still today). I told them I would find out. After a few weeks and much research, we, as the dealer, decided it could be done, and I presented a quote to them. After much discussion between us and them, they purchased it. Well, long story short, we custom-built that planter and had it ready for spring corn planting. They loved it and are still using it today. We are still good friends today, and I get a text every spring on how much they love that planter and how well it works.
Q. What are your goals about your current role?
A. Keep my clients informed and happy with me and Heritage Bank.
Q. Married, kids, grandkids, etc.
A. I am married with five kids. One is a senior in High School, and two are married.
Q. What do you like to do in your free time?
A. I like to spend my summers camping and at the lake with my family. In the winter, I enjoy high school wrestling.

Q. Last vacation you took?
A. Rented a convertible and drove from Miami to the Florida Keys and Ft Meyers to watch the Twins.

A. Treat others the way you want to be treated, and do not forget the little guy.
