Pre-Application Checklist for a Home Mortgage

When you apply for a home mortgage with Heritage Bank, you will be asked to supply personal information including certain documents.  The required information may vary, depending on your application.  Once you’ve gathered the appropriate information, you are ready to apply!

Items needed for all application types:

  • Social Security numbers and birth dates of all borrowers
  • Personal residence history
  • Employment history including employer’s name, address and phone number
  • Copies of pay stubs for past 60 days, or, if self-employed, your tax returns for the past two years
  • Copies of W-2 forms for past two years
  • Bank statements and/or quarterly investment statements for the most recent three months
  • Any other additional income you wish to include on your application (i.e., child support or alimony)
  • Homeowner’s insurance information

Miscellaneous items if applicable:

  • Pension and Social Security award letter
  • Divorce decree
  • Tax returns for rental or investment income
  • Bankruptcy papers – all pages including filing and discharge
  • Landlord contact information including name, address and phone number

If you are purchasing a home:

  • Address of the property you are purchasing
  • Purchase Agreement, Addendum and Disclosure signed by both seller and buyer

If you are refinancing your current mortgage:

  • Address of the property you are refinancing
  • Current home title information
