Position Summary:

This person is a front line employee that will handle retail loan applications from start to finish, may open new deposit accounts & may have a cash drawer assigned to them depending on the branch they are assigned to.   They will assist all Heritage Bank customers achieve financial success by servicing retail loan applications, account inquiries, product information and transactions.  They will refer the customer to the right Heritage Bank employee to assist them when applicable. 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

1.  Has detailed knowledge of all deposit accounts including business accounts and IRA products to accurately and efficiently help customers with all their account needs as well as provide training and a high level of support to the customer service department.  This may vary by branch needs.

2.   Process retail loan applications, perform closings and maintain their own consumer loan portfolio including past due loans.

3.   Compliance with all applicable banking regulations.

Secondary Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Participates in all required BSA training and demonstrates knowledge of BSA relative to job responsibilities.
  2. Responsible for security as it applies to this position.
  3. Orders and maintains debit cards using Shazam and Premier.
  4. Processes account overdrafts and account closings due to inappropriate activity.
  5. Assists customers with safe deposit services.
  6. Opens and closes bank lobby or drive-up at beginning and end of each day.
  7. Attends committee and staff meetings as scheduled.
  8. Performs other tasks, as assigned.
  9. Responsible for compliance with laws and regulations applicable to this position.

Role Qualifications:


  1. HS Diploma or equivalent.


  1. Previous experience in banking or other comparable field, such as sales and/or cash handling or customer service.
